Sundays with the Watchmen, Week 7: Watchmen#7 review

I think we should spring Rorschach.” – Dan Drieberg (Nite Owl II), Watchmen#7.

A surprisingly slow issue and the start of the second half of Watchmen. Watchmen#7 “A brother to dragons”, Next.

The issue follows Dan Drieberg and Laurie Juspeczyk as they get back to their crime fighting ways and fall for each other.

The issue begins with both of them realizing that the crime fighting itch has returned, and promptly go and rescue people from a burning building. Then they realize that they have fallen for each other after having lived together, then they decide to go and rescue Rorschach.

If the synopsis seems brief, that is because that is all that happened in this issue. It is pretty clear that when the series was made a 12 issue one, some issues turned out to be very slow. This is one of them, Alan Moore is priming us for the finale of the series now.

The issue still has brilliant artwork, overall 3/5, a rare misstep in this series.
Next week: Back to action with a Jailbreak, and Rorschach shows us why he is a badass.

Until next time,
