Sundays with the Watchmen, Week 9: Dr.Manhattan “Super-Powers and the superpowers”

It is the oldest ironies that are still the most satisfying: man, when preparing for bloody war, will orate loudly and most eloquently in the name of peace” – Excerpt from Super-Powers and the Superpowers

A fairly straightforward essay as written by Prof.Milton Glass, a former co-worker of Dr.Manhattan. The essay details why Dr.Manhattan is a necessary evil currently, and why even the threat of Manhattan may not be enough to stave off an attack by the USSR.

This appears as the special feature in Issue#4, the Manhattan on Mars issue. This serves as a thematic follow-up to the contents of that issue while acting as an introduction to the supposed book being described here.

Since it is only a 3 page excerpt, the pages have been attached here to read.
