Love makes you break traffic rules

Love makes you break traffic rules (Driving on the wrong side of the road, obstructing traffic and speeding away under a red light). Wondering what i am talking about, read on.

Have you ever wondered if there was a secret camera somewhere recording you as you go about your everyday tasks? Well, i recently was witness to a scene which strongly led me to think that i was on candid camera.

It was Friday, and i was headed home for the weekend. On my way home, i stop at this junction called the J.N.T.U. junction where the signal is on red for a full 200 seconds. Now, being on a bike has its advantages, so i managed to snake my way from the side of the road to the head of the traffic right next to an APSRTC bus.

For easy visualization, here is a graphical representation of the situation, imagine a lot more vehicles and a hell of a lot more honking and it will be like you were there.

VisualrepThis is when the strangeness started (and ended within 200 seconds).

As all the traffic was standing around waiting for the signal to go green (just 180 seconds more), a guy drove up from the wrong side of the road (nothing new in Hyd), and he parked smack in front of the bus. At this moment, all the bikers who had inevitably reached the head of the queue had quizzical looks on our faces. Basically, a “What the hell is going on?” look.

So, the guy parks in front of the bus which is at a red signal and gets off. He comes around to the side where i am with respect to the bus, and spots the person he was looking for. It turns out to be a girl sitting by the window.

So, the guy goes up to that window and says something to the girl in Telugu. The girl replies, the guy says something again, basically a back and forth ensues for the next minute and a half or so. Finally, the girl shrugs, says something more in telugu (at this point i wished that i knew telugu in order to be clued in), and walks to the front of the bus and gets down.

One of the bikers whistles at this (so, i assume i am a side-actor in a cliched hindi movie ending). The girl gets onto the bike with the guy, and they speed away (the light is still red.)

So, i basically witnessed a Hindi film ending in real life. Never thought that such things actually happened.

Until next time,
K.C.G
