Variations on a theme

The Max New York life insurance ad currently on air is, according to me at least, one of the best on Indian Television. But, its theme has been used before. And i personally love the way its treatment is slightly different each time it has been used.

First up is Green Day with their song “When i come around”. Not my favorite Green Day song, but the use of A->B->C->D->A has been used very nicely.

 

Next is Kailash Kher’s take on it in “Tauba Tauba” which is a fun song

 

Finally the aforementioned ad

I like these cyclical connection videos a lot, it reinforces the city-village theme which many recent movies have gone for.
